I'm hand washing a dress / Set trousers ... How soft?

I just bought this dress for Asia / Set trousers (100% polyester) and I have to wash it. I know there has to be Handwash, but I wondered what you all suggested to wash her sage soap. and I also wondered if there anyway I could make sure that is maintained by .... smooth!
